TOO MANY large, mainstream Commercial Soap Brands continue to use QUESTIONABLE Ingredients in their formulations to create a particular texture, scent or lather. These ingredients have known health risks such as skin irritation, organ toxicity, hormone disruption and reproductive health. While many of these ingredients are still permitted by the regulators such as the FDA, these BAD BOY ingredients are associated with health and environmental concerns. It’s time for a thorough grooming of the soap industry!

BAD BOY INGREDIENT LIST

Parabens synthetic preservatives that have been linked to endocrine disruption and reproductive health.

Phthalates added to fragrances fixatives, solvents or carriers and have been linked to numerous health risks such as reproductive development and increased cancer risk.

Sulfates surfactants that can cause excessive skin dryness, irritation and inflammation. 

DMDM Hydantoin is a preservative, antimicrobial that releases formaldehyde and may cause contact dermatitis.

FD&C Colors are synthetic colorants that can cause allergic reactions and skin irritation. 

Polyethylene Glycols serve as humectants and emollients that have been linked to irritation, lung issues and organ toxicity. 

Petroleum Products petrolatum, mineral oil and propylene glycol serve as humectants and emollients that can contain carcinogens that can cause skin irritation, clogged pores, acne and hormone disruption. Petroleum Products are generally not considered environmental good.

Synthetic Fragrances can cause skin reactions, respiratory issues, endocrine disruption and may contain carcinogens and other toxins.
